3k NAM is even worse, I look to it for a general idea and trending though.

Yea, but you can only extrapolate out current radar so far. The various CAMs can be combined to piece together likely scenarios but forecasting svr wx, esp. tornadoes is still very difficult.

Storms appear to be rapidly building upscale into clusters in an mostly uncapped environment. That might limit the overall tornado threat.

That cell SE of Lake Charles might be one to watch, it looks like it is right on the leading edge of the increasing area of CAPE.

I guess the threat of an MCS or other early convection is what kept SPC from going with a high risk.

Still a moderate risk is just one level below high risk, and is still very significant.

We've also got an enhanced risk across large portions of Alabama, Georgia, and NW Florida for this system tomorrow.

My parents need to drive back to Houston today from New Orleans. Any window to leave where they aren't driving through this?

I love how they follow the white NOAA box with dashed lines in that graphic so as to imply that the greatest threat area doesn't exist underneath the box

looks like this particular cell is going to stay south of you but it could regenerate to the northwest so keep an eye on it anyway

It will likely be a multi-round event, so you will need to be weather aware from now through late tonight.
