Wonder when/if WAFB or WBRZ will have live feed on tv. When that happens it's usually a cause for concern yikes

Can confirm this. Quarter sized hail and torrential rain.

I had to run out in that fricking hail with an umbrella to move my truck under my oak tree.

measuring the actual inbound/outbound winds, especially further than 75 mi or so from the radar, is pretty worthless. The resolutions are too low to actually see what's going on in there.

the important thing is just the inbound/outbound couplet signature.

It is feasting on warm moist air coming right off the Gulf and those overshooting tops show how violent that updraft is.

That's why we need a radar in Baton Rouge or possibly Morgan City. The later would be great for oncoming hurricanes.

JUST started raining here in ATX.

Already blew a branch down onto my deck.

I am about half a mile at most from the Balcones Escarpment (the beginning of the Hill Country) in the center of town. So it's had zero time to really blow up. Will be very interesting to see what it turns into once it hits the plains!

That storm is percolating. Amazing satellite shot there.

Everyone stay safe.

That highlights the boundary that is slowly lifting north, if the storm moves more north and off the boundary then the threat should decrease but if it doesn't...

Severe storm coming out of here towards Shreveport, plus a tornado warning to the west (Sabine Parish). I could see the rotation on radar about five minutes before they called it. Lots of rain here (Desoto Parish), but it seems like the intensify then rapidly decrease here (and it is not particularly warm).

My wife is in BR with my daughter at a Dr's office right now. That mfer needs to either die down or turn towards somewhere else.

Yeah, BTR/LFT are in a pretty awkward gap. But neither are very important airports nationally so I doubt NOAA would ever put a radar there. Maybe one of the universities can take it upon themselves?

The LSU system should get a partnership with CASA. The urban test bed here in DFW is pretty handy.
