Yeah, BTR/LFT are in a pretty awkward gap. But neither are very important airports nationally so I doubt NOAA would ever put a radar there. Maybe one of the universities can take it upon themselves?
Well Lake Charles got one, although I don't know who was responsible for that decision.

Yeah. Pattern so far is cells are petering out as they cross I-20.

New Roads area, a lot of lighting and thunder. It looks like that storm is coming this way.

Ch 9 (WAFB) has gone wall to wall, or at least is running local weather.
ETA: not staying with wall to wall, but at least they're on it.

Headed right towards New Roads and there's definitely rotation you can see on radar. Looks like Baton Rouge will be spared this one as you can see a pretty good turn towards the North happening right now

WAFB news this morning said we should stay dry till 6/7 pm. I laughed when I saw the storm from Lafayette pop up and all said it was tracking to BR, but the radar looks like that cell may be tracking just north of BR now. Am I looking at this wrong?

Don't get too wrapped up in exact times. Just know theres a chance at any point today you could have rain/severe storms. Watch the weather closely.

I would not want to be on the elevated 190 bridge over the spillway (between KS and Livonia) right now.

BR looks safe from current tornado.

Pitch black out there. My old pup is not happy.

Weather Channel just raised its Tor:Con index to an 80% chance of tornadoes in the Shreveport area this afternoon

Yea, it started tracking more northerly and organization of the cell deteriorated. It might be moving off that boundary?

quote:there's a couple cells developing southeast of the storm along a line... so those might bring BR some rain but it looks like the bad cell will stay north of BR. The hard right hook is letting up.

No idea what any of this means but thank you.

It's absolute pouring in the south highlands area of Shreveport.
