The towns of Bassfield and Soso, MS, that had back to back tornadoes come near by, first one was an EF3 and second was EF4. 7 deaths total between both.

There was a total of eight EF3’s that day. One of them hit Monroe, LA. I drove through Monroe almost exactly two years ago. Stopped and took a picture of Duck Commander on the way to Tuscaloosa from Dallas.

Think they said it was a total of 75 tornadoes across six states between Easter and Monday.

Yikes. Just a little bit stronger and you could’ve been sucked back in time and died.

I was in both of those towns today. (Soso and Bassfield) It’s pure destruction. Houses are totaled.

It’s really lucky how much it skipped through Monroe. I went ride through the hardest hit areas about an hour after is passed through and we got lucky, really.

go check out @ULMweather on twitter

ULM runs its own bi-pol radar

the people there put out a 13-tweet thread with the interesting news that there were actually 2 tornadoes ongoing at the same time

1 was south of I-20... the other near Sterlington High

I live relatively close to Sterlington High but didn’t know about that one the day of the storms. I saw the damage near the airport and mall on Twitter and went that direction instead. Warehouses were damaged, a few planes moved about, 18 wheelers blown off the interstate, and like one street behind Target. Other than that, nothing really devastating. It sucks for them, but it’s not like it wiped out half of this shithole city.

EF3 here in Chattanooga, Ooltewah and Collegedale TN. I think we are at 11 deaths.

Current estimate of 9 miles of damage and 1,500 yards wide.

It’s width missed my house by about 300 yards. Pretty darn amazing and sad to be able to see the line of damage from your home and yourself only lose a couple of shingles and trees.

Yeah, I volunteered in Phil Campbell back in 2011. Looked like a huge lawnmower had just been run over half the town. The other half wasnt that bad.
