ETA: just a guess... but I figure NWS Jackson was checking to see if this Walthall Co. tornado connected to the long track tornado that went between Purvis & Hattiesburg... why Jackson did the survey instead of New Orleans

The Hurricane Creek/Pine Burr/Purvis/Camp Shelby tornado has been rated an EF-4 with estimated maximum wind of 170 MPH, path length of 54.2 miles, and maximum path width of 1.25 miles. Additional details will follow later this evening.

I grew up in Mississippi and lived there till moving a couple of years ago but still keep up with the weather and listen to scanners and such.
