We had a low of 15 in 1996 with no snow prior to that reading.
If that is the same cold blast I remember, we had a above ground pool that had formed a 3 inch ice layer.
Before you ask, I was not that stupid to try walking on it.

In Ponchatoula? Yes absolutely, I can remember a handful of times that it has gotten into the single digits and it was always bone dry.
I’m right down the road and don’t recall many (if any) single digits growing up. Teens -yes.
Single digits...outside of 89 - nope.

In the 60’s, I was told that it didn’t get above freezing for three days. The ponds were so thick with ice, that you could ride a horse across them.
Iirc, the Lakes of LSU froze then as well.

I’m in weatherford tx right in the middle of this tornado warnings path. Let’s get this over with. It’s loud and flashing right now.

Tornado warning for Wise and Denton counties. North suburbs of DFW

My house alarm just went off with the warning but that’s a huge range. Can’t find where it is exactly. No sirens nearby.

Weatherford storm petered out.

Thanks. Looks like it might be cycling down. Hope you’re safe Whiskey.

I’m glad I woke up hahaha they were talking about thin line yesterday not discrete thin line of super cells

Well it is a thin line. It’s just pretty brutal inside that line
Eeriest sunrise I’ve ever seen here. The entire sky is flowing orange so brightly that it’s distorting the colors of everything around.

Grandberry I swear produces tornadoes

I think you’re right. I used to say Gun Barrel City was a tornado magnet but we bought a lakehouse there so I’m hoping I was wrong

Hopeful thinking that these are lining out as it pushes through DFW

I don’t like the one that will move into south Denton.
