A team of experts that specialize in high end tornado ratings are arriving over the next day or so to help with our survey. They will provide added assistance. It will take several days. This is history, so please be patient with us.
This is speculation on my part, but reading between the lines I feel like this MIGHT mean that they found damage somewhere on the path that they think could be EF-5 type damage.
Again, that's just speculation.

If there is, I think itll be east of Mayfield in the Dawson Springs area.
I also really think there will be EF5 damage found. It was going crazy on radar, pretty much on every tilt (well from the twitter post i saw, i havent had a chance to review it myself).

Mayfield is in Paducah's coverage area... so it's easy to see they would bring in the experts b/c the worst damage happened in their coverage area

Chance for another outbreak Wednesday evening north of where all this happened. Ugh

We have confirmed that the double #tornado photo from 8:19 pm CST by Aaron Jayjack Extreme Storm Chaser was actually an anticyclonic tornado just SW of the primary tornado over the TN/MO border and NOT a cycle in NW TN. No photos that support the NW TN cycle now youtu.be/fpe-VTlgyfI

I never thought it made a complete cycle there.
The FB video posted that shows multiple "tornadoes" from a vantage point south of Union City, TN is a big clue.
That was a parent tornado with multiple satellite tornadoes, one or two of which were likely anti-cyclonic. I'm almost convinced, given the distance from the parent tornado, at some points along the path we had a "tornado family".
That FB video isn't getting enough attention right now.

The Tri-State tornado was also a likely tornado family.
The El Reno EF3(5*) had satellite tornadoes with likely anti-cyclonic rotation.
The video South of Union City shows tornadoes a significant distance away from the parent tornado. I believe some were too far away to all be traditional mesovorts.
I'm saying "tornado family" at that point only for now. I will probably change my opinion 100 times, though.

This.
I don't know if Mayfield will ultimately get an EF5 rating. I believe Bremen and Dawson Springs are the likeliest to see it.
That said, damage is so widespread, and the ultimate rating is in the finer details, so I'm not overly confident in any speculation.

What kind of on the ground support are you seeing so far? Are the relief organizations/groups starting to filter into the area?
I’ll do the best I can to keep track. National Guard, Samaritan’s Purse, Food trucks, FEMA, volunteers and churches from all over.
Applebee’s has restaurants from their chains and other restaurants that are without power bringing food to that store just to cook free meals for people. All the hotels and trashy motels in Paducah are filling up. Some aren’t even checking out cause they have no place to go. The hotel brands are asking the Commonwealth to pay the bill.

Do not give money to Red Cross. Piss poor organization.
Today I watched a guy in a RC car drive by this house 4 times and not once did he stop.
The owner said he’s watched them drive by every day and not once have they stopped.

Grassroots organizations are so easily accessible and active these days that there really is no need to donate to Red Cross for localized disaster relief. Those groups have learned alot about what needs to be done, and the red tape isn't an issue for them.
Read up and put in some Google time. You will find good people doing good things all over. Communities taking care of communities and neighbors helping neighbors is what it is all about. There's no need to involve a middle man like the Red Cross in 2021.

A bunch of chasers better be trying to rent Chargers and Camaros, it is going to be a drag race. Or, would it be a drag chase?

I feel like this could easily be EF5 but wouldn’t be surprised if they say EF4.
Of course, El Reno was only given a 3 based on damage but it was an EF5.
Do they only take damage into account in these ratings?

Yes, which is a huge flaw imo.

The Tornado Trackers podcast Season 2 Ep. 4 is their interview of Tim Marshall. He goes in depth on his thoughts on the issue. Definitely worth the listen when you have time.

One of the survivor vignettes I read was from a group of three college guys in Kentucky somewhere going duck hunting; they nearly bought the farm; anyway, said they had no idea weather was supposed to get bad; how is that possible?

Willful ignorance is really the correct answer. No one seems to want to say it, though. Weather information is more accessible today than it has ever been. You almost have to actively avoid it if you put forth a modicum of effort to stay even halfway informed.
