Slidell threw up another balloon at 3z.

Still have that inversion at 700 mb.

That was so fricking scary...wind and rain was so intense, thought the roof was peeling off at first.

Are you expecting the storms currently Beaumont, Deridder to push East to Laffy/BR with supercell potential?

Can't really say, odds are they will probably line (which is what the appear to be doing). Also, New Orleans sent up a special weather balloon launch and it showed the cap getting stronger. That might be enough to keep any cells from popping out in front of the line. This could keep the main tornado threat up in Mississippi.

Hope so...but either way I am NOT digging living in an RV in my driveway tonight. Strongly considering moving the family indoors to mattresses on floors. Wind potential has me very concerned

Storms out west continue to form a decent line and there don't appear to be any cells trying to pop out in front of the line at this time.

HRRR has a little discrete cell blow over BR around 1am ish, but it seems to be overplaying development in front of the front thus far. Really think its going to be a linear event too.

Linear being a less severe outcome?

Anyone in LC right now?

Yep.

You worry about single cells out in front of the line. They get the spin and an uninteruppted tap of warm air to fuel em. Now a line can have little tornadoes and high winds and hail, but doesnt have the same violent potential.

MESOSCALE DISCUSSION 1851
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
1137 PM CST TUE NOV 29 2016

AREAS AFFECTED...PORTIONS OF MS...LA...WESTERN AL

CONCERNING...TORNADO WATCH 508...

VALID 300537Z - 300730Z

THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FOR TORNADO WATCH 508 CONTINUES.

SUMMARY...THE RISK FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS AND TORNADOES CONTINUES
ACROSS TORNADO WATCH 508.

DISCUSSION...A SEMI-CONTINUOUS SQUALL LINE IS ORGANIZING FROM
WEST-CENTRAL MS TO SOUTHWEST LA...WITH MORE ISOLATED CELLS/SUPERCELLS
EVOLVING WITHIN A WEAK WARM-ADVECTION PATTERN EAST OF THE LINE
ACROSS PARTS OF CENTRAL/EAST-CENTRAL MS. INFLOW FOR ALL OF THIS
ACTIVITY REMAINS MOIST AND UNSTABLE...AS MIDDLE 60S TO LOWER 70S
SURFACE DEWPOINTS EXIST ACROSS THE AREA. WITH THE DGX VAD WIND
PROFILE INDICATING AROUND 300 M2/S2 OF 0-1-KM SRH AND AMPLE DEEP
SHEAR...TORNADOES WILL REMAIN A CONCERN AS CONVECTION SPREADS
EASTWARD/EAST-NORTHEASTWARD ACROSS THE AREA. SUSTAINED SUPERCELL
STRUCTURES WILL SUPPORT THE GREATEST TORNADO RISK...WITH THE
POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT TORNADOES CONTINUING THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT
HOURS. THE SEVERE RISK WILL DECREASE IN THE WAKE OF THE SQUALL LINE.

Looks like a discrete cell popping up around False River. Probably nothing. Rolling northeast.

Little late night model watch.

About 3 am on the HRRR. Its dropped the discrete cells, but it is showing some bowing out of the line as it rolls into the BR area. Potentially very strong wind gusts with that feature.

Realy bitching as it rolls into I55 at 4 am.

This solution actually looks reasonable based on current presentation.

My phone still popping off. Been under tornado watch and 3 warnings.

We need this rain SO bad so I'll deal with this if I have to.

And another tornado warning. I'm getting no sleep tonight.
