That storm is moving into an area that has had a lot of rain, so the atmosphere is probably more stable. Even where I am north of B’ham, we’ve now had over an inch of rain and accordingly my temp and dew point have dropped to 60 degrees.

And where I am, even farther north of Birmingham, we've had probably close to 2" of rain and struggled to reach a 60° dew. CAPE was also close to nonexistent for us.

Tornado warning in Sumter County, AL.
And the Birmingham TV stations didn't bust in on programming to talk about it.
I had thought that county, which borders Mississippi, east of Meridian, was in the "local market".
Guess not.
But, Typically Sumter County tornado warnings become Greene County tornado warnings, which become Tuscaloosa County tornado warnings, which become Jefferson County tornado warnings.

Sumter is in Meridian TV market.

Meridian seems small to have their own TV Market.
Aren’t most tv market cities at least 100,000 in population?

Yep, but they do. For instance, WTOK is the Meridian ABC affiliate.

If Ellick can have two TV stations the bar is pretty low.

Pretty hefty storm crossing from MS into Pickerns and Sumter Counties in AL. No warnings, but broad rotation and hail.
