That was just an example of how everything Spann says should be taken with a grain of salt.

Take severe weather forecasts with a grain of salt? Sounds reasonable.

Where did Spann touch your sister-wife at? Jeez you take this too personally

Not taking it personally. Just reminding folks that meteorologist can be wrong (and often are).

I'm surprised to see so many people just blindly rushing to Spann's defense. Is it the suspenders?

Damnit! It better not be damaged!

Ping-pong sized hail on main street in Batesburg-Leesville. Going to have to go check on the house tomorrow.

I'm imagining the scene from Twister where the drive in was torn to pieces....

Batesburg-Leesville always gets hit. Jackie Hites bbq better be alright, damn it to hell.

Serious question: is being a storm chaser a profession that you get paid for? Or more like an expensive hobby?

Well, yeah. They're people trying to predict the future days away using conflicting computer models that are gauging atmospheric conditions on systems that haven't even formed yet.

They're gonna miss on a few.

USC closed up a couple hours ago, but the Darius Rucker concert for the students is still going to happen.

hook up with a news station or something like the Weather Channel and you can get paid for it

you can also find other ways to make money off of it (which also leads some complaints about storm chasers who are strictly in it for money and not advancing weather phenomenon research)
