155 in a Shelby GT500 in between the Pearl River bridge and Slidell on I10. Had some pedal left, but backed off.

Not a fan of Nascar, but I gained a new found respect for those drivers after that. Driving 130+ is a very uneasy feeling.

115-120 in an X5 on 2 lane straightaway approaching the Guadalupe Mountains.

I can't imagine going faster than that unless it was on an interstate, too many risk factors on the rural 2 lane highways.

My first and only car has a governor that tops out at 113, I did it on this back road in Kansas after not seeing another car or house for a solid half hour during the middle of the night.

My current vehicle: 109mph 2013 Camry

Ever: 149mph 1993 Dodge Stealth R/T Turbo. First time in south Dakota where there was no daytime speed limit. 2nd time was NYE Y2K on the DNT on my way to an AWESOME bubble bath.

Fastest as a passenger: 163mph in my former roommates 1967 Shelby fastback (slapped the slicks on at a track in eaSt texas).

ETA:

Was 163 not 168... just texted him bc I couldnt remember exactly. I do remember the fact I could see the gas Guage needle dipping lower as we went.

About 130 in the middle of nowhere in an 01 Lexus 300. Scared the shite out of me.

I probably grew up a little that day.

Lies!!!

Bmw limits it's vehicles to 155.
I've hitten that before, out cuts throttle back every time you hit it. It's governed.

quote:

BMW, Mercedes and others have entered into a gentlemen's agreement to a limit of 250 km/h (155 mph), but may 'unhook' their speed limited cars in Europe, and Mercedes will provide some vehicles in the USA withoutlimiters for an additional price.

No. I don't doubt them. Early 20's and a nice car you are going to see what it's got.
I've bumped limits in three cars before.

101 mph in a Chevrolet Silverado 4x4 on I-20 east of Atlanta. Governor limited.

A red Cadillac XTS passed me like I wasn't even moving.
