Dept of Defense = Insurance for your entire family, tax free food and housing allowance, and they send you on exciting vacations to exotic places.

Would love to work DoD, but I don't think the jobs are very easy to come by

The lie detector shouldn't worry you, it's the extensive background check they do that'll get you. Remember that time you accidentally stumbled upon something you shouldn't have looked at on 4chan? They'll pull that up and question you about it

I got two paid weeks for each child I had. I also have 40 hrs family leave, 40 hrs sick, 3 weeks vaca, a pension, and 85% (up to 6%) 401k match. Only down side is I work for corporate America, and it is soul sucking work. If they didn't offer good benefits, no one would work for them.

My employer offers one of the highest salary/bonus schedules in the industry, free health, 3 weeks pto (the most about to hit 4 weeks) plus the whole company gets off the two weeks that include Christmas and new years, an all expenses paid party to various destinations (ie Cabo, key West, cancun) for all employees plus a guest every year (4 days 3 nights), bonuses for unusual travel ($500 if you travel on a Sunday or Friday, $1000 for every week international), cell phone and home Internet paid, work from home every Friday plus several full weeks a year, and one week paternity leave (not sure about maternity).
401(k) match 100% of 6%, life insurance equal to base salary up to $100k, disability paid for, and they reimburse you for state taxes for working out of your home state and for tax preparation every year.

Just FYI, you can look up stuff like health insurance for federal employees on opm website.
