Where did you get this picture? It isn't from today unless Uncle Karl was resurrected and from his and Claudia's looks I would guess at least 15 years ago.

Yeah it was from 1992. Dua Lipa wore the same dress tonight since the theme was an homage to Karl Lagerfield.

Rich and famous people are weird. Breaking news.

These pics do a good job at showing how ugly some of these people are, some not so flattering angles.
Except the Kardashians, they are always ready to face the camera to get the best out of their makeup job.

There has gotta be at least a kilo of cocaine flowing through their collective veins.

As for OP, I enjoy the MET Gala. It’s haute couture, which is supposed to be over the top and absurd. It’s fun to see the twists folks have on the theme as well and honoring Karl Lagerfeld was absolutely appropriate. Some of my favs:
I’m pretty sure Kidman’s dress was an early Lagerfeld that she wore for one of his collections.
And I appreciate Jared Leto as Lagerfeld’s cat, Choupette.

If I were fancy and famous and such I'd for sure go and show up in a Carhartt t-shirt and some jeans. Wear a ball cap. I'd throw a little shine on my Thorogood work boots, though. Not too much shine....don't wanna be looking all pretentious and shite.

You left out all the T&A this year. Daily Mail had some better pics. Some of those are def from other years.

This one looks like she ate some experimental Willy Wonka candy and shite went sideways.
She's probably just thankful she made it down those stairs in those shoes.

Looking like she lost her favorite bouncy ball.

It’s satan’s work omg!!
It is like a Mardi Gras ball for real movers and shakers. Haute couture is often "out there" but I have seen far more egregious fashion faux pas at Krewe balls and I am not sure all of them understand their sartorial irony.
