They just opened a TopGolf here in Denver, and I've been looking at going with some friends. As far as I can tell, they charge hourly bay rentals and that is it. 25/hr; 35/hr; 45/hr depending on the time of day. With each bay allowing 6 players, this seems like a steal of a deal for a night out with friends for a few hours. As far as I can tell, there are no additional per game or per ball fees. For those who have been, is this accurate pricing? I assume they make a large sum of their money from food/drink sales.

TopGolf is a lot of fun. I went to the one last time I was in Houston. I think there's a one time membership fee of like $5. Worth it, for sure.

It's accurate. Membership card, I believe, is $10.

Their food and drink is where they make money.

Is that the one out by Centennial Airport? Flew in there a few weeks back to see a show at Red Rocks and hang for the weekend. Those Top Golfs are kind of crazy looking.

Oh, I have nothign to add about Top Golf. Just wanted to confirm OT baller status.

No catch, as someone said there is a one time membership fee of $5-10.

Yeah it's the one in Centennial. I figure it's one of those things that can keep you there well past 3 hours which is why I was trying to figure out their pricing better. Even at 5 hours, it's less than $50/person to play before food and drinks which is still cheap for 5 hours of entertainment. The biggest complaint I can find is that the balls don't always register where they land, but I can live with that.

Membership fee is $5 here which is a non-issue. $25/hr before noon seems like a great way to spend a Sunday morning.

Looks like it snowed last night for the first time here too. They are open through the winter and have covered heated bays...could be fun.

No catch. Food and drinks cost a ton, but they have pretty decent food, high quality food for an entertainment type place. Most people who go there spend a lot on drinks and food, and they get a ton of business. You never realize how packed it is, but they have like 40 bays or more in Houston, and most of them are taken, so they're raking in the money

It's fun. It's like turning a driving range into a bowling style of competition. Sit back, have some beer, and tee up.

Just announced they building one in Charlotte

I've played at one in Austin a couple of times, and in Virginia. It is a great way to relax and just hang out while hitting golf balls.

Unlike real golf, you don't have to be good to enjoy yourself.

This. But if you have 6 people playing...an hour of play is not gonna go far among 6 people.

It's a horrible concept. Boring and there are never any hot chicks there.

Certainly not the case at the Scottsdale location. I saw may hot chicks in short shorts, skirts and minidresses all playing. Place is always packed at night as well. Many people just hanging out in the bar areas drinking and waiting for their turn to play.

Doesn't sound like my kind of scene. Besides it's too expensive.

If it's like the two here in Houston they are always packed and if you don't get there early you wait forever. It's quality entertainment though.
