What gets me is those assholes are ok with modern technology such as social media and cars.....but BASIC modern medicine is not to be trusted?

They should be living like the settlers on the direct tv commercials.

Look, if the parents can prove that they did everything they could to save their child according to their deeply held beliefs, then I don't have a problem with it.

Again, I ask the question. If the parents deeply held beliefs cited that sexually assaulting their children was the right thing to do, would you have a problem with it?

That's the thing about freedom, you can't blame everything on your beliefs. Freedom comes with responsibility, and as a parent that responsibility means you have to see about your children because they can't see about themselves. If you fail to do that, you will be prosecuted.

Is this for real? How about I have a deeply held belief that I shouldn't have to pay for anything. I now have the freedom to steal anything I want. Right?

The line has to be drawn somewhere and providing basic medical care sounds like a good place to do it.

I'm not aware of any prevalent belief system that advocates such things, but I know there are many people out there that use holistic medicine.

So if I find a big enough group that believes in sexually assaulting their kids that makes it cool with you?

According to his logic, you don't even need to do that. "Thats the thing about freedom."

I can't stand more government or government interfearence In our lives but I do think there should be an evaluation/screening before one can procreate.

You have to be mentally fricked to watch your kid suffer when help is at your fingertips.

Tell me about it. At some point, you'd think they say "Hey, this maple syrup isn't working... maybe we ought to something different. Like ... I dunno... go to the hospital?" Instead, we get "Nahh, he's still breathing, we got time. Go get the ginger root".

Your hook is really shiny, yet you still managed to catch a limit. Congrats to you, sir.

ETA: I also thought that this article from the link would be more upsetting to the OT.
