If parents aren't allowed to choose the risks of their child's health, why aren't vaccinations mandated by th state?

You're trying to compare a practice that has no long-term adverse effects on a child past a stinging rear end to a practice that can and does lead to a terrible, slow, and painful death.

So if a parent doesn't bathe or feed their child you don't think they should be punished for that?

It's adorable you think this is a remotely apt comparison.

Did you read the father's post on Facebook boo hooing about his situation. Here is an excerpt:

"Will we ever be free?
I am not sure that Collet and I have ever looked forward to a weekend as much as we have now. Last week was quite eventful getting settled into court, attempting to balance family life, trying to figure out a new way to receive donations and lastly, having our car engine pretty much explode (more on this in the next update). As such, Collet and I have been extremely sleep deprived, stretched thin, and attempting to take on more than is humanly possible. If ever our spirit’s have felt broken, yesterday was one of those days and the past day and a half has served as burnout recovery. We are both starting to recoup from the past week by setting our focus on those things that are most important and we are feeling more ready to attend the next week of court."

If I did something to accidentally kill my child I would probably have to be institutionalized. This jackass is complaining about his hard week. He has no shame whatsoever. At the very least he should have his other kids taken away.Kids get sick all the time. What happens when one of them gets the flu. Is he just going to stuff hot peppers and garlic down their throat too

I think the core vaccines like polio, etc. should be a prerequisite for attending public schools.

You don't HAVE to vaccinate your kids, but if you don't, you cannot put them in general population in publicly funded institutions.

No, I don't.

Yea, but some quack researcher said that there's a 1 in a million chance that the treatment could cause autism.

And said researcher has admitted to falsifying his evidence...

There is literally ZERO proof it leads to autism. ZERO.

Then you believe wrong. People don't OWN people.

You're right. Apparently the state owns your child.

Not vaccinating your kids is one thing, I agree that's the parents' choice.

Neglecting to treat them in an effective manner when you know said treatment is available and easily accessible is another.

Do you normally troll? I can't say I recall seeing you trying so hard to sound stupid before. Hopefully you've been sufficiently entertained by being called a moron this morning Not sure what you get out of it, but cool I guess.

What is your response to this? You don't see a profit motive?

Look, if the parents can prove that they did everything they could to save their child according to their deeply held beliefs, then I don't have a problem with it.

That's the thing about freedom. There are consequences both good and bad.

This kid was probably going to be a non productive member of society anyway. Probably would've grown up, majored in Central American feminism, and promptly become a heroin addict that resented his hippie parents.

My religion states that if I hold my infant underwater until they pass out, it will cure their colic.

You have to draw the line. They knew there was an effective modern way to treat and heal their child and they chose one that had absolutely no shot of working.

Not vaccinating and running the small risk of acquiring diseases is one thing, intentionally avoiding modern treatment for an already gravely ill infant is another.

Ah you went a little too far and exposed the troll with this one.
