Date: Apr 01, 2020 – 06:39 p.m.

No. of infected up 2,937, 727 more deaths

The Civil Protection Department said Wednesday that 13,155 people have now died with the coronavirus in Italy, 727 more than Tuesday. Tuesday's daily rise had been 837.

It said 80,572 people are currently infected with COVID-19 in Italy, 2,937 more than Tuesday. The number of people infected had risen by 2,107 on Tuesday.

The department said 16,847 people have now recovered from the coronavirus in Italy, 1,118 more than Tuesday. Tuesday's rise in recoveries had been 1,109.

The overall number of cases in Italy, including those who have died and those who have recovered, is now 110,574.

Deaths: 13,155
Recovered: 16,847
Active Cases: 80,572 – Currently Infected Patients
Closed Cases: 30,002 – Cases which had an outcome

Am I wrong, but it looks like Italy is slowing down in the newly infected cases.

I guess this is... positive? Seems like an (unfortunately) slow descent in total cases and deaths with the peak being that day with 900ish deaths. Still, seems like they've been hung up around 700ish for a long time.

its positive in that their curve is flattening

its horrible that their curve is flattening around 700-800 deaths per day

I wonder how the lack of a sewer system in Venice, Italy is affecting the virus there?

That's still ongoing cases. They aren't healed yet. The cases that are finished says that 13k died and 16k are healed. Who knows, 40k of those might die before it's done and over with
