My point is if I can buy a home for under $300,000 in a gated community one hour north of Orlando, don't tell me starter homes are $400k.

And I feel your pain, I am an empty nester and I am trying to down size and I can’t give my fricking house away m, when 4 of 5 years ago I was getting unsolicited offers. You need to make 500k plus a year now just to be middle class. My daughter is working like a dog 80-100 hours a week and makes 100k plus right out of college and is broke as shite.
I am tired of being the crazy old mfer bitching about prices but this is completely unsustainable. Even my surgeon buddies and old big money people are bitching. It they are bitching in Bocage and the CCM I can only imagine what it’s like in Tara and west mobile

I’m on my 4th house since 2006. Houses are way more expensive now but a starter house now means your arse needs to drive a little further. Wife and I always split the difference.

That’s nuts. We are talking about starter homes and I can’t believe it’s that bad if you drive a little further.
Desirable for me at 45 is way different than someone in their 20’s or early 30’s.
