They make money when they sell a house.


But remember not all real estate agents are Realtors. But, all Realtors are real estate agents.

I had a random Realtor send me a long, canned message on LinkedIn.

I don't see why realtors are needed with the internet.

I had the same problem in Baton Rouge last year when I listed my house on FSBO. Calls and texts everyday and you have to answer when you're selling your house. I may have gotten short with one or two when they called at inappropriate times, but if you're in sales you'd better have thick skin.

They don’t. The top 20% of agents do 80% of the business.

Just tell them you’ll offer a half percent if they sell your home for more than asking.

I use a realtor, but in reality I find the house I want.
I've done it every time I've moved since the 90's.
But, IMO, a realtor is much more needed in selling your house

I just tell them bring me a buyer at asking and I'll give you 3%, they get butthurt over that.

Of course. Most people can’t take off work all the time for showings, inspections, etc. So they hire a realtor to do all that for them.
