Yes. Because we have greater safety regulations and the amount of money they'd lose in law suits whenever this inevitably collapsed would dwarf the cost to build a bridge correctly.

Despite how it looks in the picture the "crack" is actually straight and only about 10cm wide. It is an intentional design to allow the concrete to expand in warm weather. The middle section of the bridge is made of metal with spaces for the concrete to sit.
I believe this is in Brazil. One commenter on reddit said he drives this bridge daily and its hardly noticable while driving over it.
