My parents are both from there. My grandparents still lived there when I was a kid and and I spent a lot of time there. The area is rural and about 90% white. I am surprised that they are having this "issue" there to be honest.

But in this day and age of meth taking over rural communities, maybe it isn't surprising.

Your arse better be admitted to the hospital or dead.
My old office would send you home if you came in sick. They didn't want any epidemics.

That is just going to lead to more sick kids and sick teachers. A kid with a fever may be sitting in a classroom but he is not going to learn anything and will spread the illness to others.

Send a kid to school with the flu so the whole class can catch the flu, brilliant. When I was a freshman, I was out 5 weeks with mono.

They are. Complete bullshite that should never be allowed.

Maybe, but do you think curfews are necessary in emergency situations during times such as civil unrest in a city?

It's wrong but justified maybe?

True story. And considering most public school systems are dealing with a teacher shortage already, it's going to get nasty.

And you're spot on about a sick kid. If they're truly sick, they're going to be miserable.

At some point, you have to hold parents accountable when they're allowing this shite to go on. They'd be better served to require parents to come in for meetings/interventions after X number of absences (excused or not). That would nip it in the bud quick.

And as a former Attendance Clerk, truancy courts are almost always backed up even without this kind of rule. Godspeed to getting things through court quickly if you send EVERYONE to truancy court.

Homework turned into punishment for parents. Stay with me here.

How often do you see teachers posting shite about how all the school's problems are because of shitty parents? A lot of times it's passive aggressive. Now they get pissed off because the parents strategically take their kids out of school for something. So they want to ruin that now.

This is why government is evil. Eventually the employees get bored and find shite to do.

LOL at being given corrective action by a school administrator. Are you being serious right now? If they could do anything of value they wouldn't be a school administrator.

I missed 3 days after the 96 lsu Kentucky basketball game. Other than that and skipping on Fridays to watch lsu batting practice with my dad I loved going to school.

Seems like a good way to get a lawsuit and cost your county millions in lawyer fees.

absences are way out of control in "some" school districts and the parents create fake doctor's note ad nauseum.
