Sailor's are known to have superstitions. One of them is to not serve on a ship named after a ship that sank with loss of life as it is considered bad luck carried over.

Will it be outfitted with modern navigation, radar, satellite, etc, or are they really going authentic? And what about the engines/props?

You couldnt legally build the old titanic today and launch it, much less put a shitload of people on it and sail it. At least not in any developed country.
