Servers make 2.13 an hour or whatever so they deserve a tip as long as they don't shite the bed with your table service

this is false.

Servers make minimum wage no matter what. if their reported tips don't equal up to that jurisdiction's minimum wage, their employer has to comp them up to minimum wage.

quote:

According to a common labor law provision referred to as a "tip credit", the employee must earn at least the state's minimum wage when tips and wages are combined or the employer is required to increase the wage to fulfill that threshold.

Everyone else makes AT LEAST minimum wage, counter service delivery, etc

Fun fact that most people don't realize: employers are required to cover the difference between minimum wage and their wage + tips.

The thing is, no one ever has to go that, because tips far exceed minimum wage 99.9% of the time

More likely scenario is that's just the default settings for the receipt printer that's attached to the payment system on their tablet register, and it has no way of communicating with whatever software they use to place online orders.

That's not the customer's problem or concern. The tip should be left up to the customer and let the pizza place deal with that "senario."

We really need to get away from tips being part of a salary. Just add $1. To every menu item and pay them a living wage.

You’re a fool for tipping the first time. I ain’t tipping if I’m picking up my own pizza.

you're a fool if you think that your food is not getting messed with when it is already known that you're not leaving a tip
