Round it up to the next even dollar amount.

lol could you imagine what would run through a person's mind if someone came up to them after an awkward exchange, and just randomly started taking pics.
I kind of want to see it happen.

Nope. That's the restaurants job. And servers in my state make full minimum wage so I dgaf.
I always tip servers and bartenders but I'm not paying someone extra for the privilege of having them ring me up.

I worked for a pizza restuarant for two years in undergrad. Every day from 11-2 they had a buffet. People rarely left a tip for us cleaning up their plates much less walking to the counter and picking up an order. Most of the time the kitchen staff boxes everything up and sets it up somewhere where the bartender or hostess just has to turn around and grab it.

This has never stopped the OT before.

If I did take out and did it from the same place semi often I would tip for sure.
1- If you go there a lot they will know your name and might take care of you food wise.
2- Same as above, but they might take exception with you not tipping out on your food.

If your order is correct and everything is in the bag, then show a little love.

Drew Bree's tips 1 dollar per 25 dollars of the order on take out. Of course Drew Brees thought he should win a meaningless game against Tampa bay a few years ago. But Drew Brees was wrong about trying to win that game. He should have lost it so the saints would have a better draft pick. So drew Brees could also be wrong about take out tip amount also

I worked in restaurants from age 15-25, so I'm pretty sympathetic to the whole tipping big to people who only make $2.13/hr. But I feel firmly that you don't tip on takeout orders, but add a dollar or two if it was exceptional service with a great smile and attitude.

Approximately 30% of sales go towards paying labor cost, so you paid them about $2.25 to cover their labor cost. Good job, Sir.
If the system they use requires the server or bartender to verbally ask the customer, "How much do you want to tip?", then that is a royal fail on their part. Frankly, management owes you an apology for a shite service fail.
If anything, they should have a tip line on the receipt so the customer can decide if a tip is warranted. This does three things: 1) without saying a word, it lets the customer see that tips are accepted and are appreciated 2) tipping is up to the customer, leaving the customer to decide whether to the tip is warranted without feeling pressure to tip and 3) the customer feels he is in control.

No. If you don't tip at a McDonald's drive thru, why are you tipping for take out.
Same thing.
Same thing.
