Meh. It's a bit different posting on a mostly anonymous message board than arguing about politics or civil unrest with friends and family under your real name
Difficult for many here to understand that

I can't exactly walk away from LinkedIn.

Mr Perfect is a teenager who thinks this website has the same functionality as Twitter
Best to ignore him

Simple. I'm retiring from the military this year and I need it to ensure that I land quality employment before I leave.

You nailed it. And before someone tells me that this is social media..... I don't think that's what the op is referring to.
And if you argue the difference then the pure stupidity he is referring to is you

Did it Wednesday. It’s ridiculous how addicting it is. But I know I’ll be better off for it.
Posted on 6/5/20 at 5:28 pm to CharlesLSU
Amen. I’m taking a break from Twitter for a while. Too much garbage.

I deleted Twitter on Sunday.
Twitter has lost thousands and thousands of users of the last 2 weeks. You should make it one more, OP.

At the same time, you can’t use it to get a job without avoiding it in every other situation?
Meaning, using it to just get a job but never posting on it or reading it in any other circumstance.

There's a sizeable difference between PERSONAL Social Media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) and PROFESSIONAL Social Media (LinkedIn, Dice, Lensa, Indeed, etc.).
Professional Social Media is heavily scrutinized and there is a far higher standard of behavior and ethics that users are held to.

The only thing I use LinkedIn for is to keep my resume up to date and be available for job offers from recruiters. It's a great way to network in your field.
I rarely go on there other than to update my profile or respond to a message. I might open the app once per month.

LinkedIn is a great resource for younger people looking for jobs. I think you'd be surprised at how affective it is when it comes to getting yourself out there.

TD is the only social media I partake in. Never had a FB, Twitter etc.
Sometimes I don’t know how you people look at that garbage all day.
