When our twins were small, they were a handful. They definitely proved the old addage, the whole was greater than the sum of its parts. Whenever they were left alone (together) they could do far more damage than they could individually.

One would open a drawer on the dresser and the other would empty it. Then one would crawl in a drawer, then crawl onto the top of the dresser. They could wreck their bedroom.

But if they were separated, they could play all morning without incident.

I seem to have missed the part where the arse whipping ensued

Because the much more effective punishment is to keep them awake the next day. They will sleep at night for the rest of their lives.

While that is cute, it's extremely dangerous for toddlers to be allowed to climb out of their crib like that.

When they are able to climb out of the crib it's time for a new bed or to remove one of the high rails and get a toddler rail instead.

Let 'em faceplant once or twice. They'll learn.

My twins will be 7 next month. They would climb out of their cribs during nap time. They liked to sleep at night. Thankfully.
I miss those days.

My twin daughters are now 15. When they were toddlers it was a hoot and rarely a pain. They would take the huge package of pampers and methodically take each one out, inspect it and drop it. We would collect the DOZENS of inspected pampers and fold them up, put them BACK in the package. Who needed toys? And WHAT were they looking for?

Anyone else notice after the 2nd time the parents came in, they out the pillows all around the perimeter of the cribs? They obviously deal with this every night...

Now, if it were me, I'd put them in toddler beds. Since it's already proven that they do this all the time, you might as well make it safer and not have the kids "dropping" out of a 3ft tall crib.

1 is the worst age. They're mobile and they have no sense of danger.

I always tell anyone whose baby is still crawling to enjoy it while it lasts.
