Both senators had called “some of the major tech companies in recent days to say they needed to comply with the law,” according to The New York Times.
Cotton later said that any company that helps distribute TikTok could face “hundreds of billions of dollars” in fines from entities beyond the federal government. “Think about it,” he warned.
That the controlling communist China govt can push out the below statement after first pushing and then reversing their own blocking actions proves how evil they are and how they want to divide the US. They don’t even allow the app inside China on top of censoring anti-China postings.

It’s like you don’t even know China did this completely on their own to make people like you go cry to others. The US govt did not force TikTok to shut down.
It’s takes a special mind to complain about overreach while supporting a communist govt that is building up its military for a war against us, constantly pushing its military hackers to target US businesses and govt agencies, sends spy balloons over us, doesn’t allow US social media like Twitter/X inside China, and completely bans tiktok inside its own country. Also throw in them lying and covering up the fact that covid was leaked from one of their labs and then not sharing an actual sample of the original strain of the virus with the US.
But yeah let’s trust China to be our free speech savior.
