You do realize real people died on the Titanic and in WWII. These movies are based on real life tragedies and real life acts of heroism? Your tragedy is based on a punk threatening an off duty police officer and he got what he deserved. I would love to see your reaction if this happened to you or a loved one.
Come on dude, you have to understand the difference between deaths in a movie and actual deaths on film. I shouldn't even have to be arguing this, but y'all seem to just want to be contrary since I'm not hooping and hollering over a kid getting shot to death.
And if I was in the officer's shoes, I would have probably reacted the same way, but I wouldn't be able to just casually brush the death of a 16 year old off my conscience either. And I damn sure wouldn't be saying shite like "that thug POS got what he deserved" and "I wish I had gotten those other two as well". The world isn't black and white. Just because the bad guy got killed doesn't mean good triumphed.

I googled the kids name and about 3-4 lines down, a message board popped up.
I know it's naive but I have to believe that site is just one big giant troll with one person posting on multiple accounts.

Here is some liberal gold for you. BTW, we are not trained to wound suspects. We are trained to stop the action. Not all officers are expert shots. We train 2 to the chest, one to the head. This officer did a great job.
You know what I like about that article? Nothing. Know what I like about that page? The comments! Bunch of PISSED off black folks there.

The time has come where people of all ages need to understand the cold harsh reality that stupid, reckless, criminal actions can and probably will result in terrible, life ending results.
The innocent public has had enough. We will not tolerate your actions, and we won't shed a tear for you when you get put down. In reality, there's more like you being pumped out of single mothers cooches every day. You failed the test of life due to your own choices. Thanks for playing, there are no parting gifts and no second chances.
Liberals can cry you a river, frick them too.

I very much understand that Hollywood dramatized these deaths on the titanic and in WWII for their own benefit in dollars. Those people died and we made movies to profit. When did anyone say this off duty police officer was able to brush the death of a 16 year old off his conscience? He did what he had to do to survive. I very much understand the difference in death in a movie and in real life. I've seen it with my own eyes. What about you? A stupid kid made a bad choice and it turned out badly for him.

I would be traumatized from the situation for sure, and be relieved knowing that I could have died but was able to get out of it with my life. I would have no remorse for the kid, because he would still be alive but for the outcome he brought on himself.

I love some of the comments in the liberal articles about this shooting.

We are still waiting on your well reasoned response. Are we all barbarians because we show support for a man that did what he had to do? Do we pass a law that says no off duty police officer in Chicago can carry a firearm to protect the poor innocent criminal?

In this case it is. There are two ways that goes. 1) He kills the guy trying to rob him
2) The victim waits for the kids to kill him. Maybe they do, maybe they don't. But most likely, in Chicago, they kill the victim.
Good triumphed in this case. There isn't a grey area here. The best case scenario MIGHT have been everyone lives. But in Chicago, the best case scenario rarely ever happen.
I think this case further illustrates the point that most responsible gun owners are trying to make. And that is most crimes on the street are NOT committed with guns purchased at a gun shop or through legal avenues. They are committed with guns obtained illegally.
How else is a 16 old gang member going to get a gun? Either through an illegal purchase or stealing it. Hey, maybe he stole it from his mom but I seriously doubt it.
He sure as hell isn't going into the pawn shop and getting one.
So yeah, let's make it harder for responsible citizen to obtain guns. That will fix the crime problem.

I read through the thread late last night, so I may not be speaking to you specifically, but there are several people in this thread going further than showing support for the officer. They're glorifying the death of this kid AND wishing death on the other two. That's taking things too far.
As I've stated twice already, I have no problems with the officer defending himself. His life was in danger so he had every right to protect himself using force - even lethal if necessary. I do have a problem with the people flocking to this thread celebrating Deonta's death.

I'm more upset that the cop didn't have a Football to spike.

I understand your reasoning but, people are tired of being victims. as a society we put up with this behavior and justify it with poor pitiful you. it's not your fault, it's the environment you grew up in, or whatever excuse people like you want to give. he PULLED a gun, he threatened a life, so long you leach on society.

I agree. Reading through 8 pages of people posting "fill 'em all up with lead" and the like is disturbing.
