Here is some liberal gold for you. BTW, we are not trained to wound suspects. We are trained to stop the action. Not all officers are expert shots. We train 2 to the chest, one to the head. This officer did a great job.

Ridiculous, Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in the country. Impossible for a criminal to have a gun!

I'm glad the officer was able to defend himself and not get hurt. On the other hand, it's really sad that a kid had to die in the process. Most of y'all's responses to this thread are downright disturbing.

Don't run up on somebody and point a gun in their face if you don't want to risk being killed. People aren't happy a 16 year old kid died. People are glad the innocent man pumping the gas was able to save his own life. This is what will make some of those kids think twice about doing shite like this and it might help save someone else's life

It's sad that a 16yr had to die. A lot of things are sad and unfortunate. It's sad that this officer was put in this position to have to defend himself and live with the fact he had to take a human life.

Having said all that shite, better the criminal than the innocent.

really

lets look at some hugely popular videos of people dying.

Titanic
Saving Private Ryan
Tombstone
Schindler's List
Lone Survivor

yes this one was a real death but did you know this guy any better? were you there? I would dare say you develop a more emotional connection to actors and actresses over the course of a 3 hour film than you did in the 2 min FB video of a thug.

This makes me weep for the future of our country on so many levels.

After reading and posting on this board for a bit now, I'm getting the sense that I would fit in better in the south somewhere.

You do realize real people died on the Titanic and in WWII. These movies are based on real life tragedies and real life acts of heroism? Your tragedy is based on a punk threatening an off duty police officer and he got what he deserved. I would love to see your reaction if this happened to you or a loved one.

I don't think that officer is happy he killed a 16 year old or that he got robbed, but he was put in that position and he reacted to save his life. The 16 year made a bad choice and it cost him his life. That sucks, but what also sucks us that this kid is getting more attention dead than he ever did alive. To many youth go through these developmental years with the wrong influences anf they turn out like this kid. The glorification of the "thug life" by Hollywood and their like help lead to this crap

Make sure you don't imply that it's the fault of these people who multiply like rabbits, take no active role in their children's life, and allow the streets to turn them into these monsters. Because that would be racist. You need to blame the root of the problem...George Bush and white people.

I agree. I defend the guy's right to defend himself, but I get no joy from the death of a teenager (or anyone for that matter).

I really don't think it's this at all. I think it's laziness and the want for someone else's shite without working for it. I don't think it crosses most of their minds to do it to be cool, it crosses their minds because they want money, shoes, jewelry, etc. without the sweat to get it.
