I wonder if the WWE fans from the ‘90s that strictly watched WWE regret not watching WCW. I was on the WCW fence because my mom thought WWE was too raunchy for me. After watching YouTube highlights of WWE from the ‘90s, I feel like I missed out.

Anyone looking for a good wrestling podcast, Tony Schiavone cohosts a show called 'What Happened When.' All WCW talk with some occasional WWF talk. Highly recommend

These guys, along with Jim Ross and the King, were the voices of my childhood

The Monday Night Wars was such an entertaining timeframe, when everyone either watched wrestling or knew what was going on. Wrestling was at its peak:

Such a stark contrast compared to nowadays

Every time I see these clips it makes me think of my grandfather. He loved wrestling, especially at this period. He’d tape Nitro episodes and when we’d go over there he put the tape in and we’d spend hours watching them and just shooting the shite about what was going on in my life with with comments like “That damn Hogan..”

Such awesome memories. I freakin loved WCW late 90s.

Such a good time in pro-wrestling. 2 solid shows competing head to head.

Nowadays, I've given up on WWE because it's way too over produced and silly to me and they can't give me interesting stories.... I say that... I haven't really watched much in the last 2 years.

And I watch AEW Dynamite and Rampage every week. I enjoy the different styles of matches and the action-packed shows.

Pro-Wrestling will experience another boom.... all it needs is the birth of a new super-mega-star or for AEW/ WWE to find that right recipe again... - like Hogan, Austin, Rock, etc.

frickin’ A.

Most of the “wrestlers” these days look like they should be baristas at Starbucks or cashiers at Game Stop.

No it won’t. Those guys were allowed to run and say things that would never be allowed on cable today. That’s what made it great.

Wrestlers are allowed to swear and say wildly offensive things on AEW Dynamite, but that makes few of them more convincing. Many, many wrestlers who appeared as part of the Monday Night Wars and practically all who worked in the territory days were men you could easily see kicking somebody's arse on the streets. The wrestlers today? Not so much.

Some truth.
I'd say moreso in AEW.

WWE top guys are pretty legit.
Roman Reigns(Samoan rocks cousin Gtech d lineman), Omos(7ft4 giant), Bobby Lashley(MMA) , Riddle (UFC), Big E(Iowa D lineman).

AEW has lots of softer guys like Kenny Omega etc.

That's pretty spot-on.

Paul Heyman's been quoted as saying Roman Reigns could be UFC Champion tomorrow, if he wanted to.

It used to be fun entertainment with insane characters and rivalries. The 80s-90s had some great storylines. The DX/NWO days had to be the peak though
