What evidence do you have of this?

They worked the case but there isn't much in terms of useful evidence. It happens sometimes. If there isn't any evidence, solving the case is going to be extremely difficult if not impossible. Basically they have to wait for the forensics to "hit" someone arrested later who gets their biometrics in the system.

First impression upon reading this post: this is a total contrarian and unnecessary response by a used tampon.

This is really sad…. Doesn’t seem like 3 years. Poor family deserves answers.

Per my source in the Baton Rouge judicial system..

They knew / know who did it. It was one thug, and it was gang related. That same thug went on to rob another "store" in Baton Rouge and was shot dead.

Why they cannot announce that to the public I don't know

This is what I've heard over the last couple years too. There was a murder in front of the store at Terrace and S. 15th a couple weeks after Allie was murdered. The store murder involved two juvenile gangs that crossed paths. Anybody that wants to Google it, you'll see they arrested Kenneth Forbes and Germany Brown for killing Dedrick Wagner. There is a lot of chatter that Wagner was one of the two suspects in Allie's murder.

I'd always heard they were pretty sure they knew, but just never had quite enough evidence to get a judge to sign a warrant.

Why are they not allowed to put those circumstantial evidence in the public view? Concern that if not the real killer it further hurts the investigation?

Get sued into oblivion maybe

They don’t just spill blood in the streets of BR they spill the beans too. I think law enforcement has a pretty good idea who was probably responsible, but don’t have the physical evidence. You have to have the name of someone to assume they may be dead.

Long asked for Carver to get a speedy trial, and it was set for December 1, 2025. Washington and Carter also have court appearances in the fall.

Are they just going to run with the "killer may be dead"

I do not know anything about this crime, but, I would bet local law enforcement has a pretty good idea of who did it, but has got nothing to show a grand jury. They're waiting for the perp to FU and get busted on another charge, or indeed the killer is dead.
Search Robert Ellingwood Mobile AL 1997, same deal.

Edit/Note: I just read frankandbeans post. I agree with that assessment.

Hell there has been zero information on a trial for Mike Wade who slaughtered 3 people in like 2021. He should get the DP. I knew the guy pretty well. Used to run hotshot for me. Had a great house and a hot wife and had big LSU ties… I never knew he had THAT side of him.

So was Allie’s murder related to the gang violence or was it random, i.e. wrong place, wrong time?

I've heard that whatever evidence, video, witness statements etc. they have all point to it being a carjacking and the shooter fired when she attempted to turn her car around.

I never heard specifically whether the investigators believe Wagner was attempting to rob Forbes and Brown or the other way around on Terrace, or whoever else is involved in their gangs that may be dead or alive now. I don't think my LEO and DA Office sources are close enough to the investigation to know all that. But somewhere tangled up in the web of hoodlum associations they supposedly have a decent level of confidence (unofficially at least) that at least one of the two suspects is dead already. I assume that may be Wagner but it could be some other associate to the guys from the Terrace incident that hasn't been named.

How can they announce it to the public without proof?
