It had more. They just didn't know about it.
People have had this for at least a few months in the US. It's come and gone as a bad cold for many before the world fully knew about Coronavirus.

In Italy two cases were verified on January 31. They went 18 days before they verified a third case? I find that hard to believe.

After Italy got its first case, one of my buddies said it was gonna spread like wildfire over there because they "breed like rabbits". Boy was he right

22.5% of Italy is over 65. Their median age is 9 years older than the US at 47.3. 2nd oldest on earth behind Monaco.

IF it were a virus that predominantly affected young people, and Italy was an epicenter, it would be much more alarming.
I just see this as a similar way of saying that nursing homes are at higher risk.

Some of these increases in "confirmed cases" in mid Feb to early March there, Korea, and here have to be in part because more are being tested and tests started to include less restrictions on who needed to be tested. Not all of increases obviously but some.
Is there a breakdown tracking total tests given over same time periods (& what restrictions on testing areas have had during time frames)?

Yep. Italian businesses sold out to the Chinese who exported workers in droves to work in the factories. Those Prada bags may still be made in Italy, but Giuseppe is no longer making them, Yang is, and he and thousands like him traveled back to China to celebrate the Lunar New Year just as the virus was heating up.

Lunar New Year is Thanksgiving, New Year's and the Fourth of July in one for many Chinese.
