unless it was a medical emergency,
I thought one of the articles already said they were taking an ill person back to his home in Palm Beach

Who knows or cares?
I don't particularly care, my original comment was that I was surprised that a high roller like that, particularly with those kids, was at Walker's, it would be like Trump vacationing at a KOA, except there would be even less to do at Walker's

looks like there is undeployed flotation on the skids
That’s the big question to me.
EFS failure? Pilot error?
It does not seem likely that he lost the horizon and flew into the water at full speed based on the relatively intact airframe.
Almost has to be controlled descent. But who knows?

Wtf are you talking ab? Are you trying to think like a college aged sorority girl but using your own opinion? A $100 million yacht in the Bahamas with personal servants, jet skis, top shelf everything while island hopping? Yea that sounds so boring! Do you understand young/or females at all?? I’ll give you a hint, they like expensive shite

NY Post says that.
So wild arse speculation, but . . .
Sleepy pilot not accustomed to flying at night. He’s under time pressure to get a sick kid to a medical facility. He misses a step in the checklist (fuel-related?) and loses power while low and slow (and heavy).
Tries to auto rotate but does not deploy EFS. Maybe he doesn’t have time. Maybe his reactions are slow because it is two am.
That’s my WAG.
Nothing but sorrow for the families and those poor terrified people who drowned in a dark cabin, the horror of which is not lost on me. I hope speculating on the cause does not seem callous.

Well add this story to the mix. And, with a photo of yet another model aircraft.
Link to story about helicopter crash
Second link. Pic shown is definitely not an AW139.
Second article.

that would only make it worse for the girls, unless the harbor has been expanded since I've been there that wouldn't fit in Walker's, they'd be stuck on the boat
They had access to a helo and more money than some 3rd world countries w/ in an hour to nearly all of the islands. I think they could’ve found something to keep them occupied.

Yeah. Something doesn’t match.

apparently they were at Big Grand Cay, makes a lot more sense, and all of the Walker's discussion moot
ETA: even if they had the ship's chopper on board, and I think that's highly unlikely, you can't just go into another country's airspace and start island hopping all over the place at will, especially one that is in a major drug trafficking route, doesn't work like that, ask Jimmy Buffett

Life is precious. So never take anything including the next day for granted. Horrible. Especially those youngsters leaving this earth too soon.

Nassau Helicopters operates the Bell 206. Maybe someone got sick and Cline chartered one locally.
The picture could be a 206, and it would hold seven people.

What doesn’t match?
Search that tail number and it shows it’s owned by a WV company.

My cousin Megan is in Phi Mu at LSU. I don’t think she knows about this since she is in Europe right now.
Could you get Megan to list the locations, especially if international, of all current LSU Phi Mu students, to further improve this thread?

What doesn't match are the pics included with the stories.
