Stick it out, you've got nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Sorry you lost your wife. Hang in there and things will get better.

You're posting about it here, which tells me that you really don't want to go through with it, and that you just want some relief from your pain, whatever small or large degree of relief it may be.
Talking about it is a start. Call one of the numbers that I am sure have been posted by now; see a clergyman; they're free. Talk to your family; physically be around them.
Having had a couple of experiences with people close to me taking the easy out, let me tell you that what you are feeling now is only a small part of what those you leave behind will feel. Don't do that to anyone else.

Dear God in Heaven.
No advice, I'm sorry, beside the same old..."it's not worth it..." "You'll get through this..."
Talk to someone, NOW, your doctor, your pastor, you may not be Catholic, but a priest, a counselor, call the number given...something, NOW.

I can't imagine the pain you (OP) must be going through. Your family will be devastated to lose you as well. Don't put them through more pain.
Call for help.

I'm sorry for you loss. I know it's hard right now but, I can tell you from experience that things will get better. Please get some help, whether it's calling the suicide hotline at 1-800-273-8255, talking to your pastor if you attend church or a close friend/family member. Heck, I'll give you my number if you need someone to talk to.

drink a beer.
This is probably the last thing you need to be doing right now. Lay off the alcohol for a bit while you are clearing your head.

To to a nice quiet area outside. Sit down. Read a book.
Life is never that bad buddy.
I've had some lows. I've had some highs. This moment right now will make you appreciate the good times to come in your life just a little bit more.

Unfortunately the battle is not over. It is VERY likely that these feelings will return again. Have a beer, take a day off, do something you enjoy, but GO get help. There is no shame in seeking advice. I can almost promise you that 1 beer isn't going to fix your emotions. Know that you have support, even from strangers. Reach out to family or friends before it's too late.

I've been real far down the rabbit hole of alcoholism. Lost everything that ever meant anything to me more than once. It nearly killed me. Today I trade an hour out of my day for my LIFE. I go to sleep sober at night and I wouldn't have it any other wa
This is an old post of yours. I don't think drink a beer and chilling out is going to help. Go see someone, a friend or relative. Alcohol is the friend that got you to where you are, and I can tell you don't want to be there.

Call the number, talk to someone. Get some help, nothing to be ashamed of.

I have no family or friends

Alcohol is self-medication. Go talk to a professional and get some advice on some more constructive coping methods.
There's no shame in asking for help, don't let anyone tell you any different.
Depression is a disease like any other. Don't take advice on dealing with depression from people who have never experienced it first-hand.

Are you overweight?
I can help you work through this but I'm going to need a few weeks with you.
