This is actually a great idea. I once was feeling really down about myself. While I was waiting for the doctor, a bus load of sick kids from childrens hospital pulled up. It immediately put everything in perspective.
Just talk to someone... or go take an immediate vacation somewhere... distract yourself with something positive.

Hey man, not sure what your personal beliefs are or if you are a music guy but there is a song you should check out. It's called "I Still Believe" he wrote it after his wife passed. If you believe in God, it's a great song to check out and find solace in knowing that he has gone through the same thing. I'm sorry for your loss brother.

Hang in there man. I've been through a big loss and constantly rolled my eyes when people said "time will heal." That shite ended up being the truth. You will eventually begin to think of the good times more often than being sad.
