Trapped them on a bridge in NY and on a rooftop in LA.
It is now clear that they have sent in the 4th string scrub rioters.
Hopefully they are preparing to just run out the clock.

Well one group just wanted to live life, the other is destroying things. It’s a wee bit different. I do think curfews for the most part are stupid. They could have easily trapped protesters on the bridge without curfew.
Curfew gives a legal reason to snag the instigators and arrest them. After that they have 48 hours or something along those lines that they can hold someone after booking before they have to arraign them and set bail or release them without charges. Even if the DA won't charge them and you just have to catch and release, 48 hours may be enough time for crowds to disperse and calm down if you can snag the people who may be inciting.

I know of plenty of laws that prohibit arson, looting, and assaulting police.
Literally no one argued otherwise, but congrats I guess?
If they were rioting, arrest them. If they were simply marching/protesting, the comparison is 100% accurate.

It is a bit interesting how curfews are ok but the shelter in place was railed against incessantly around here.
Yeah, people wanting to work vs people rioting and destroying businesses.
Same exact thing.

curfews are necessary to prevent late night riots, and to make it easier for law enforcement to detain the troublemakers.

TH03 - Or possibly people who are too dumb to see the contradiction.

Was looting and arson a problem during the Covid curfews?

Only if you act like rioters are the only people out on the streets.
But you would have to completely ignore facts in order to hold that position.
Surely you don’t hate facts, do you?

Let them sit there, the bridge is closed

If they were illegally blocking traffic then they deserve anything that happens.

Try coherent English before calling someone a moron.

If you want to go the road of curfews being necessary to prevent or make it easier to squash rioting, that’s fine.
That’s not what OP is saying though.

I'm curious, is walking in the middle of a highway and blocking traffic legal?

I just wanted a haircut, not to smash a store window and loot 30 pair of Jordan‘s

Lol
So what percent is fine to be rioting to make this ok? One small group ruins the confederate flag for everyone. So one small group even though it’s a pretty large percent has now caused peaceful protesters to be forced into a trapped situation.
Also as pointed out most of the things they are doing were already against the law not just pulled out of thin air like the hoax issue.
