I cannot imagine my wife having sex with other men in such an arrangement. IMO it violates the sanctity of marriage and every virtue that I value.

Sex with other women? Maybe.

For real, I feel sorry for this poor chick. She is planning her wedding right now thinking about how she has finally found the man she wants to commit the rest of her life to, the man she wants to father her children, etc.

Meanwhile this guy is planning how he can basically keep fricking other women without getting in trouble for it.

I can't imagine it either way honestly. I'd murder someone if I found out they slept with my fiancé. I'd probably murder her too. And I don't think I'd be able to cheat if the opportunity presented itself.

fricking some skank once or twice isn't worth risking what I have.

I wouldn't cheat on my wife. You don't understand the concept of an open marriage; you have to think outside the narrow box. Marriage today doesn't have to be like it was in the olden days, and that's a good thing.

Good money says he already has.

My brain can't fathom what I'd do if my lady cheated. And I can't imagine cheating.

Now a couples swingers type orgy situation.....

Where's Wiki's hottub parties when you need them?

Just swing together. Problem solved. Or find a girl like mine who enjoys other girls.

agreed and the thought of it is pretty sad

to me it screams unhappiness more than anything

if people make it work, more power to you...but it goes against the entire philosophy of marriage

Exactly. Thing is, I wonder how many of these "open marriages" arise because one really wants it and the other is desperate to keep that person so they go along with it thinking they can convince themselves it's what they want as well?

I agree.

I wasn't serious. I would not want my wife to have sex with anyone but me.

However, I do know of more than one marriage that is like the OP has suggested. They appear to be doing well and it seems to work for them. I think the people in question have to be, shall we say, naturally adventurous...a different breed. If both man and woman are cut from the same cloth, it may work. If one is not, it could be disastrous in its consequences.

I see Maine Trucker plates...they say "semi-Permanent"...

What does that even mean?

Well yeah, that part is pretty obvious and I'd say healthy. Desperation and self delusion are the cornerstones of a good relationship.
