You think I want to move from Colorado to your state? Let’s be honest.

not sure why anyone would take 22 from Mandeville to madisonville. You can’t fix stupid I guess.
Because sometimes the traffic to get onto 1-12 West is backed up 2-3 miles. Sometimes Hwy 22 is faster, especially when you live on Hwy 22 and simply need to go to the other side of the river. There are many variables in this discussion.

your preferred route is going all the way to 12 then down 190? you can’t fix stupid, you’re right about that

The assumption is that most of these Madisonville folks are not going to Mandeville, they are commuting to and from Nola. And if they bought a house in Madisonville thinking that the commute to Nola was going to be quick they are dumbarses anyhow.
I’ve lived in Covington off 21 for years and the traffic complaint is completely overblown. There are a couple of spots to avoid during rush hour and everyone knows them.
Don’t you live in Hammond? This is a Northshore thread, move along.

I’d rather live here than Colorado minus our extreme summer heat. Was there for Labor Day, no bottled water in copper mountain & the losers charged me .25 per brown bag.

You should move to the 9th ward & put put your kids in public schools.

Absolutely correct. Easily confirmed. A parking lot on 22 west.
And for us, it’s an issue anytime we want to hit the Target area from like 4-6 pm many days.

My wife and I loved our area when we moved to old Mandeville from Abita/Covington/Mandeville area. Both were fine but we walked around and got out more when we were by the lakefront. We lost our house in Ida thanks to the flood waters from the lake that saturated the ground enough for a gigantic oak tree to uproot and crush our house. Even still personally I wouldnt want to see them build a huge wall on the lakefront in place of that the sad excuse they have for a seawall. We enjoyed walking the Mandeville lakefront at sunset. It’s a nice area and when we had to commute across the lake that was always easy unless there was fog on the bridge and a convoy. Probably takes an extra 45 min to get to Madisonville from the south shore when there’s rush hour traffic. Never headed that way from Mandeville at certain times of the day.

Sure if you leave out the 6 months of miserable heat and humidity. Maybe you like it hot, I've been in Louisiana long enough that I have had enough of it.

I've made this commute every day for six years and I've only seen this happen a handful of times. Less than ten probably. Maybe less than five. I don't know if it's bc of the time of day I make the drive or what, but this "problem" is completely overblown.

I hear NOLA East is a thriving metropolis
