Chiropractors are not real doctors. By and large they are snake oil salesmen adept at cracking your back. They have a limited knowledge of anatomy and physiology. I would avoid them at all costs for any sort of remotely serious medical condition.

Physical therapy could certainly be helpful. The mainstay of treatment is anti inflammatory medications and possible injections of local anesthetic into the chest wall if the pain persists. I would not flush money down the drain with a chiropractor. Also google “chiropractor VAD” for some fun reading.

My wife had the same sort of experience. She’s a massage therapist. PT basically making her do shite she does anyway to rehab and charging $150 a visit. Meanwhile the bone and joint clinic just wanting her to take Vicodin. She hates meds. Chiropractor got an MRI and developed a plan which was more like what I think physical therapy should look like.

I think good chiropractors combine good physical therapy practices with medical ideas and their own ideas to solve problems. There is a lot of room in that field for quacks so care should be taken in choosing them.

Every NFL team offers Chiropractic care. Several years ago there was a sideline shot of a Falcons plauer being adjusted during a game.

Other than predicting they will rob you, how can they predict that you need that many visits? Pay as you go at The Joint or similar place. Also try some single barrel bourbon.

A gifted chiropractor is a lifesaver. Without a solid rec from a trusted friend though, it may take 3-6 visits before you can decide if that one is worth a shite.

I use them as needed when I tweak something or stove up from stress and sitting at a desk too long.

I would not commit to that big of a plan. Tell him you will decide as you go along.

If it’s not “right”, cancel your next appointment and find a new one. Some of these guys live and breathe being at the top of the knowledge curve and are great at their craft.

I’d suggest going to a physical medicine and rehabilitation doctor (PM&R). They can get you set up with PT. They can also escalate care to a pain specialist if needed who can take more aggressive actions to relieve the pain.

The problem is anytime you do a manual neck adjustments like they do, there is always a possibility of an artery rupture which can result in a stroke

Any doctor can kill you if they don’t know what they are doing and don’t know much about the patients condition.

Fortunately fatalities are uncommon for pt’s and chiro’s as far as I have heard.

One time I saw a chiro dig under my friend’s shoulder blade with his fingers, then latch on and yank up.

I decided I was never going to a chiropractor that day

Would not trust them for treatment afterwards if you have soft tissue or disc issues.

It’s nonsense. You’d get more value burning your money in a pile to keep warm.

PT here. Truth is most spine/rib conditions will resolve on their own within 3 months. GOOD PT and maybe a GOOD chiro can speed that up but you will know within 3 visits if it is helping. Do not commit to a 4 month treatment plan, that’s insane. Pay as you go. Do yourself a favor and find a McKenzie (MDT) PT or chiro. They are much more honest will tell you within 3-5 visits if you are going to get better or need to move on.

Damn baw, I might have this maybe, or something kinda similar. Right at my breast bone down the center of my chest. If I hold my arms out straight in front of me and make a fist, it hurts (sometimes) to make my fists touch when held out straight in front of me. I recently seen where some people were saying that the old school way of doing bench presses were the wrong way to do it and I question if that was the cause of my problems. It doesn't really bother me much but a few times a year. Only reason why I mentioned this is because I noticed that it seemed to happened when I slept funny. Seemed like when I slept on my side was when it happened the most. Usually I just sleep on my back and never have problems but noticed it when sleeping on my side. Try sleeping on your back more baw.
