Make sure you can get a shot at flying though. As was mentioned earlier, I don't think it will be near as enjoyable if all you are doing is fueling the planes or staring at a radar screen in some place like Thule, Greenland.

The officer ranks in the military is pretty awesome. You will have it really good. I would do it if I were you

I was at West Point earlier this summer as a medic. Their cadet basic training was easier. If I remember right I had a new cadet complain to me with sweat in his eyes while the cadets were zeroing their m16s.!that was a sad day for me.

I had to train a plt element of eod guys on their combat lifesaver skills, def a well disciplined group of guys.

I know someone who was a jock, did community service, 4.0 and top scores on standardized tests.
Still needed to know someone to tug on strings to gain entry to WP.
