1. Australia is fully of skinny, active people
2. Covid will work it’s way through their population at some point. They are just prolonging the inevitable. I’d love to see their cases per capita compared to ours.

Number of deaths mean nothing if you’re not giving population stats. That’s what per centages are for.

Everyone has a death sentence. Every day you waste doing dumb shite is one less day you get to enjoy. I’d rather be dead than to be scared every time someone blows their nose or coughs. Be safe but don’t be stupid about it.

That number is at least half. You will find out soon. Basically the same numbers as flu/pneumonia

It’s the way they’re counting. Anyone who dies with covid in America is a covid death
People downvoting this are in for a rude awakening. It’s coming soon.

US has what? Like 14 times bigger population. But then again compared to Australia's death rate, where we have 836k, with our population, in theory they would have only had like 33k.
But the US is where it is today because of how it was handled early on. In summary, the white house and the CDC refused to start using the term pandemic.
And for some reason the CDC didn't think it was a good idea to start testing people coming from other countries (both US citizens returning and people traveling here) especially from Wuhan back in January 2020. That would have allowed them to identify and quarantine those people in order to limit the spread.
Instead, it wasn't until March until both realized the reality of the situation and decided to take action, which by then was actually too late.
Read the book The Premonition: A Pandemic Story by Michael Lewis (guy who wrote MoneyBall, The blind side, etc).
There was a group of doctors who called themselves "Wolverines" as a joke referring to the movie Red Dawn who had been doing studies on pandemics for years.
Fauci was joining their conference calls. These were doctors who took it upon themselves to continue this work, which two of them started on in the white house under GWB.
In a sense it was someone of an obsessive hobby to these doctors and the CDC learned about them and was going to them because the CDC had no idea what to do (in case anyone didn't know, according to this book, the CDC is useless and doctors doing work on the side were more efficient than they are).
And the white house was playing politics with their thumb up their arse. So in summary, there was an opportunity to have this shite under control.. But you know.. Government gets in its own way.

Australia population is like 25 million right?
Yep. It would be more reasonable to compare it to Florida than the USA.
And I wouldn’t believe the numbers anyway.

You believe official Covid numbers.

No one’s family member is so important to shut down a nation for almost two years. That’s called selfish.

Everything in Australia can already kill you from House spiders, kangaroos to jellyfish. They said frick u to Covid

The US’s is still far higher but some people are forgetting Australia is a fricking island. They don’t have anywhere near the travel in and around the country many other nations do. Even when you factor tourism. It was always going to be easier to contain there.

Ain’t that something. Otherwise it would be that Senile Joe and Kamala stopped Covid once and for all.

The US number is well below 100k.
