Sounds like the idea of hiring someone new is a threat to you. You need to clear out the buggies that are in parking spaces first..

I'm entitled? To what? A job? Cmon dude do you even read? If I felt entitled I wouldn't be here asking for advice.

If you didn't feel entitled, you'd realize that coming off arse brusque as you have been itt is a decidedly poor strategy.

I don't blame you one bit man. No one deserves to be miserable. I left a job without another one lined up because I had a disrespectful superior. I was able to find an upgrade with higher pay within a month. A lot of posters here will shite on you because they've never had the balls to venture out and leave the job their dad got them. The job market currently sucks. Reach out to staffing agencies and head hunters.

I'm sure were not in the same field but things have really dried up over the past few months. I'm kind of kicking myself for not being more Motivated to make a switch back in January and February when there were tons of opportunities

PapaPogey seems to have an attitude problem. A common characteristic of someone who quit their steady job without having another lined up.

I'd move to a new part of the country, say Colorado, and start applying there.
. Lol, not Colorado. There's no construction management work there since oil prices collapsed.

You have to be careful because a lot of those job boards are scams to steal your personal information.

I don't know if you will see this or not, but I'll tell you my story. After I graduated from college I took a job an hour and a half away that I was going to commute to. I had obligations where I was from so relocation wasn't possible. I was making great money. More than I could have imagined. I was miserable though. I was waking up at 330 and getting home at 7 most days.

I had enough and quit after only 4 mon the without a job. It took me 4 months to find something. Many people were skeptical I would job hop and I completely understood why they would think that. I finally found a company that took a chance on me.

I have been with them for 4 years now. I have been rewarded with two promotions and many raises. Just like you, I had family saying I was an idiot basically. However, it was the best decision of my life. My work life balance is awesome. My salary is decent and I like my coworkers. Do I love my job.....well no but I can tolerate it and I don't wake up miserable. Only I knew how miserable I was at the first job and only you know how miserable you were at yours. Keep your head up and apply everywhere. No one deserves to live a miserable life and I realized the last few years that you don't have to be miserable. Will you love work
..no but you won't be miserable. Good luck aND once you find a job that you aren't miserable at you will see then how you can be content at work and great at home. It's possible.
