Facing two enemies at once, Poland finds itself in a crushing vice after less than a month of war and the Polish forces must flee their own country to live to fight another day.

Impressive what the Poles accomplished while under the gun.
Did a lot of work in figuring out the German crypto and smuggled it to Europe.
Many soldiers regrouped to fight with the allies. Go Poland!

Something happened in WW2 every day of the year.

The Poles were a heroic people.
Ironically France and Great Britain went to war to protect their sovereignty only to end up practically giving Poland to one of her initial conquerors, Russia.
Made no sense.

Very sad.
Stalin encouraging the Poles in Warsaw to rebel against the Nazis only to stand by and watch them die so the Communist sympathizers could take control once Russia "liberated" them was shrewd and cold blooded.

Churchill saw Stalin as he really was, FDR did not.
Poles in Warsaw late in the war fought a great fight only to be let down by the calculating Stalin who ordered his army to watch them get slaughtered.

Often over looked is the Polish pilots contribution in the Battle of Britain. Major factor in the good guys winning that one.

Revise away buddy. Poland was subjugated by both German and Russian forces. The only thing Poland did was after the war be a client state of the USSR and with their help liquidate Ukrainians.

See Communist sympathizers and the fact we're talking about a period of time before this, Arthur. Keep up.

Poles fought well in Italy in the Italian campaign.

Went to Warsaw recently. Beautiful city.
Saw some statistics on the percentage of the population that was Jewish pre WW2 and today. Staggering.
