This stupid fricking lion - let's talk about marines instead

I see thread after thread and Facebook post after Facebook post about this damn dead lion. Everyone's talking about it like it's a major event.
I heard about the marines who were shot in Chattanooga only a few times and then it was really only a few words and that was it.
This is what American society has come to. We cry on national tv over a fricking lion but bitch about gun control and whether or not an event was a terrorist attack when marines - our very own who volunteer to protect us with the last drop of their blood if need be - are gunned down in cold blood.
What. The. frick.

I'm getting pretty tired of the "outrage" dick measuring contests. Your reaction to every thing bad is measured against your reaction to other bad things. Then you yourself can be judged as bad based on the comparison of your reactions. It's tiresome.

My Facebook has been inundated with Austin and Perry. But I live pretty close to Jupiter/Tequesta. Haven't seen much there on the lion. But I agree with your overall point.

The Chattanooga shooting got a ton of coverage, but there is little continuing story about this tragic event. Similarly the Lafayette theatre shooting happened just a week ago and isn't on the first pages of this Louisiana-centric website. Also not a point about our priorities of what's really important.
It's more about what is up for discussion. You say screw that lion, other people are outraged about that lion's death, both find fault with the other side's callousness/degree of caring. There are good points to be scored for each camp. That's a lingering news story, especially if you are talking about what you're seeing on Facebook.

And what's up with the dummies too lazy to find actual lion stuffed animals? Too big of a rush to get in on the shaming to find the correct animal?

I like the name "The Butcher of Bloomington". That is hilarious.
Look, I'm not happy about what the guy did to Cecil the Lion. It was stupid. But as always, people take the whole outrage thing way too far.
