why is it a problem?

Because as a customer, I don't want a yapping dog in the seat next to me.

If it isn’t a physical disability then you won’t have a service dog in Louisiana. If it isn’t a service dog then you don’t get to bring your puppy where ever you think you should.

This whole treating dogs like humans has be baffled. It used to just be a select few

I went to a house the other day. They had three dogs inside. It smelled like shite. I am sure they don’t realize it.

I have a chihuahua inside. He stats in his bed. Won’t come around people and keeps to himself. If I ever needed to fly w him he would be shipped as cargo

Or maybe you should keep your zoo animals at home where they belong.

Im sure I’ll be dealing with this ridiculous situation on one of my flights eventually.. Glad I’m in the cockpit and won’t have to smell horse shite the whole flight.

Correct.

People that don't think this practice has been abused aren't very bright or they never travel, or both.

Again, if airlines allow it and you don’t like it, then maybe you shouldn’t fly?

Well I’m flying the plane, so.........

And, it’s not the airlines “allowing it”. The fricking government is forcing them to do it..

Except virtually every airline allows smaller pets to fly on board for a fee.

I’m not referring to ESA or whatever. I’m referring to people who say dogs don’t belong on planes.

airlines used to allow smoking. Things change. Maybe we can build little rooms for animal carrying folks to congregate in airports.

I’ve flown on 2-4 planes almost every week for the last 14 years. I see a couple dogs in airports each week. Most of them are law enforcement or Homeland security dogs. Some are service dogs, some are just pets. I’ve never had one bother me on a flight a single time. Not a bark, not a foul smell, not a single piece of dog hair. 1000’s of flights. While I agree that emotional support animals are ridiculous in a lot of cases, they’ve inconvenienced my life exactly zero times in 44 years of living.

Last time I flew two rows in front of me was a girl with a golden retriever. The two other people in her row did not look too happy about it.

True. I’m a dog lover, so I don’t mind people who carry miniature dogs in bags if they’re well behaved.

I do however have a problem with miniature fricking horses on an airplane.

I was in Dulles on Tuesday and there was a cute little college girl with one of the most beautiful golden retrievers I’ve ever seen. He alerts her before she has seizures. They usually give them a seat behind the bulkhead for the dog to lay down. Where the frick are you supposed to put a mini-horse?
