You said guns would be readily available and cheap on the black market if they were theoretically banned.
No I didn't. Link?

As one would expect, it's easier to get now that it's legal.
As long as you pass the federal requirements and go through the proper channels it is more accessible now. I agree. And legalization has probably crippled the black market because it's much smaller now. With everyone able to buy it legally there's no reason to go to a black market and thus the black market becomes higher priced and more dangerous. And because it is legal, more people are willing to buy it legally and abide by the restrictions and regulations put in place.

that if guns were illegal they would be more difficult to obtain than they are now
They would be more difficult to obtain for law abiding citizens who want to use them lawfully. They'd be the same difficulty to obtain for criminals who already obtain them illegally.

I just found out that hand grenades are illegal for me to own here in Texas. What the frick? This state is preventing me from my second amendment right to bear arms. Oh well, guess I’ll just go to the black market and buy some because as I’ve learned in this thread, banning any weapon will create a black market for it where it can easily be bought.

And it’s really sad that it’s come this.

This is usually where uninformed Second Amendment arguments end up.

It's worth a try. Airlines did it. Another good thing is that less cops would be going into the hood and getting shot.

Let me know what you find and how much they are

I do not disagree....but lets start with an armed guard until reform in the area of pharmaceuticals can actually happen....its has gotten waay out of hand

But I do believe you shouldn’t be able to own a semi automatic rifle unless you have very good reasoning.
Who the frick are you to tell me that I don’t have a good enough reason to own a gun?

I would question the need for normal citizens to be able to buy high powered high capacity magazine guns.
How about the more than a third of Americans that own guns that aren’t going around murdering people?

cut out a lot of the bull shite drug laws and the cops would have time to do stuff like this

We are talking about weapons that can EASILY be used to kill others.
Ok, I can EASILY get my pocket knife and slit your throat, I can EASILY get in my car and run you over, I can EASILY get a baseball bat and bludgeon you to death. That doesn’t mean that majority of the population is doing that.

Help me understand what you mean by pharmaceutical reform (either one of you).
I work in this area so I'm interested in where you're going with this.

This was discussed a few pages ago, too late to rehash as it's just about cocktail hour

They had an armed guard at the school in Florida, but it is a big campus.
A lot of schools already have an armed police officer on campus. In order to prevent someone from shooting up a school, there would need to be eyes on every spot on campus all day long.
I don't think there is anything that can be done to completely stop these events from happening, but I think there are things that can be done to decrease them. #1. An 18 year old shouldn't be allowed to buy certain weapons.
The human brain doesn't fully develop until around the age 25. People at the age of 18 still act irresponsibly, still don't always know how to control their emotions, etc. It will not stop people who are of legal age, who wants to get a weapon to commit a mass shooting, but those who shoot up schools are teenagers.. 17, 18... 19 years old..
People were saying it didn't surprise them that this particular kid did this. There were a lot of signs. Could there be a law that allows someone's gun to be taken away if they are not acting as a responsible gun owner? I think this kid would have qualified. Let's say a judge would have to approve of someone's guns being taken away, I think there would have been enough on this kid that a judge would have signed off on it, but instead, there really wasn't anything the law could do.
There are small things that can be done to make it not so easy for people who seem to be at risk for doing this.. But there will never be any type of gun law changes. The NRA and other special interest gun groups spend too much money lobbying to make sure nothing will be done.

We have kids eating Tide pods and you need to understand pharma reform?
The good thing about this whole thing, is that it will b forgotten next week. And then in another couple of months there will be a new shooting, and then gun talk will come back up. 2 weeks later everything will go back to normal. Nothing to see here move along.
463 school shootings, 588 deaths, and 891 injuries from 1760 to today.
So in 258 years we average 2.27 deaths per year in school by guns. Think about the kids they say. 650,000 abortions per year. This gun talk is the dumbest thing I have ever heard in my life. Ther eis no hope for humanity when we have people this fricking stupid running around.

Demand from government a LAW that requires multiple armed police in each school. It may even help to bridge the gap between police officers and children who would otherwise grow to hate policemen.
I agree with this and would also like to add that they make it mandatory for all public and private schools wear uniforms

Mental illness is a global problem. The consistent problem of mass shootings is uniquely American. There clearly needs to be some reforms in our gun laws. I’m all for the 2nd amendment but it is insane that an 18 year-old can legally buy an assault rifle designed specifically to kill people quickly from a private seller without so much as a background check.
