Also, stop buying expensive shoes for a toddler who won't fit into them in a month.

Nah people like this think buying expensive items will somehow "make it worth it." Then continue to bitch about being poor. Someone start telling these fricking leeches that a $500 phone is not a NEED it is a want.

God and Jesus would have very little sympathy for her and her priorities too.

Yeah, Jesus wasn't very sympathetic to that prostitute, was he? Please stay away from church, okay? People like you are the devil's biggest tool.

Feel bad for her and the child. She shouldn't have put herself in that position, though.

Looks like she lives in an urban area. Probably her best move would be to relocate to an area with a lower COL.

My favorite was a guy living in poverty in San Francisco. If you don't make 100k, you're in poverty in San Fran. Pack your stuff. And move to an area where the COL is lower.

They were about to kill her. No one's advocating killing this lady.

Jesus also said go and sin no more after that.

I hope you never claim to be a Christian. If you do, please read up on that dude named Jesus in the Bible.

Are Christians supposed to feel sorry for everyone who doesn't do much to help themselves?

Jesus said he helps those who help themselves and that people should work for their own stuff.

But she was working, and she still needs benefits on $7.50 an hour. You have to understand that, right?

The fact that all y'all immediately jumped on that lady makes me sad. I'm a mom. And I saw another mom who wanted to help her kid as much as she could. I guess y'all saw something else.

And how is this lady currently sinning? By being poor? I guess she should have aborted, right?

Well, republicans traditionally love to promote abstinence as a means of birth control.. despite the mountain of evidence that shows it isn't effective

Advertise free birth control. I mean it should be given out at your local grocery store like the flu shot is.

She works 15 hours.

She could take another job.

Or something.

I know a Vietnamese guy that worked 3 full time min wage jobs, lived in a 1 bedroom apartment across Florida from the Broadmoor Theater with a wife and 2 sons. All he did was save money until he had enough to open his first nail salon.

He died worth over a couple million bucks in liquid assets.

Now. . .what is this lady's excuse?

People casually saying things like "CPS should take those kids" is problematic

Where exactly are they expecting CPS to place those children at? Most states have wayyyyy too many children in the CPS system and not enough foster homes for them to go to. CPS workers overwhelmed with numerous cases that many times the actual serious cases fall through the cracks of the system.

Didn't say she was sinning. You used the lady at the well to justify how Jesus would feel about her predicament. I was pointing out that the two situations are entirely different and Jesus did place the onus on the lady to make different decisions moving forward.

He opened himself up to the sinners, but he wanted them to repent and change their ways, not go back to being a prostitute.

This place is very crass, but the overall point is still valid. No matter how bad she thinks she has it, it isn't THAT bad when your kid is wearing high-end shoes. Your priorities are messed up. Period. Don't expect more help if you've got money to blow on that kind of thing.

Abstinence is 100% effective against pregnancy. People just don't actually follow it.

I have zero empathy for poor people of any race, they all are lazy AF.

You do realize not all poor people are "lazy AF" as you claim?

Some really do work hard to provide for their families and give them all they need. I was raised poor....my dad had the work ethic instilled in him to not accept handouts. It was his job to provide for us. The only time we received food stamps was a 6 month period when I was a child. My dad had hit a rough patch and went on them temporarily to be able to feed us. He could have stayed on them longer. He actually had to physically go down to the food stamp office and tell them to please stop sending them to him each month...that he no longer needed it.

So please don't sweep every poor person under the "trashy and lazy" rug.
