Wasn't exactly the size, but the moreso the shape. The Dreamliner has some pretty decent size windows, think the composite body has allowed that.

Not sure what BOAC was thinking with the 'sky-cots' but anything to sell the public on comfort. Can you imagine getting the Feds to buy that off today??

de Havilland Comet. Stress cracks would develop around the corners of the square windows and the planes would eventually break up in flight. Airplanes now have oval windows because of this plane.
