I guess it depends on the seriousness of the activity.

If you're just driving the family truckster from point A to B, then you're not likely to check the tires. (Although you probably should. If for no other reason than to make sure you didn't get cheated.)

If you're a pilot, then yeah, you probably do a walk around of the plane after major maintenance to verify that there isn't anything egregious going on. And you should run down a checklist of things to ensure safety before going up into the sky at several hundred miles per hour.

The incident is just the obvious result of the leftist firearm hate mantra mixed with Hollywood hypocrisy. So you have people who’ve been ingrained with a visceral hate and fear for an inanimate object, who are then required to handle that thing, but their hate and fear of it inhibits their ability to responsibly do so, despite how easy it is. A child can do so with a minimal amount of instruction and *open-minded* attitude.
