Don’t worry. Biden is going to fix this with another shutdown.

If this country would have taken this seriously early on, we would be in a completely different situation. Sad

That curve. It is not flattening.

If this country had just quarantined the sick, protected the elderly and not attempted to destroy the greatest American economy in history, none of this would have happened. And it would probably had a better impact on the casualties than these governors sending sick folks back to nursing homes to infect other vulnerable folks. Sad

As opposed to those European and Asian countries who did it “right” and are still having cases and shutdowns?

What exactly should we have done differently? We were stuck at home 2 months early on, and the virus didn’t disappear.

Damn, good point. Would have been awesome to have some real leadership in place.

I know people who have just recently been laid off due to COVID-19, so I feel like it only gets worse before it gets better.

Biden will get us some shovel ready jobs like Obama did.

My wife and I both continued working the whole time.

False.

Had we actually acted in accordance with the science behind “shutdowns”, i.e. re-opening when hospitals were determined to not be overrun, while maintaining light regulations in regards to preventing spread among the elderly and vulnerable populations, we would be beyond this.

The literal worst thing we could do was shutdown completely for an extended period of time.

This virus needs to spread among the less vulnerable.

That is how you get beyond this.

Those who push for and maintain overly arbitrary and economically destructive shutdown mindsets have made this significantly worse.

I don't understand what our objective is right now. This virus isn't ever going to be completely eradicated so why are we shut down? We can't just hide in hole until they find a cure.

We are trying to half attempt between eradication and herd immunity.

Hence why there is zero scientific backing to prolonged shutdowns.

This Covid reaction has been an overreaction by government to mentally unstable people.

You may be right in some ways. Trump took some good measures early on. Shutting flights down did not stop it and he pretty much gave up months ago. He sent a terrible message to the American people. His supporters followed his lead. The POTUS just can’t tell the nation that this thing is a “Hoax created by the Left”. How irresponsible is that??????? We could have done things differently but the consistent message by our president that the virus isn’t an issue was irresponsible. The country has been split on a health crisis. Everyone must be on the same page when dealing with a virus like this!!

And there's a large chunk of the population who are convinced we need to shut down more than we are now.
